Who We Are
Rising HR Philly is a networking and resource-sharing community designed to support professionals in the early stages of their Human Resources careers.
Founded in Greater Philadelphia and now expanding across the Northeast Region, our vision is to connect rising HR leaders with their peers, experienced practitioners, and the broader business community while making professional development and career-building opportunities more accessible and tailored to their unique stage of growth.
What began as a group chat of just 8 HR professionals in October 2024 has grown into a thriving community of more than 500 members, making waves across the regional HR and business community.
Our members are professionals with 5 years or less of HR experience who are actively starting or growing careers across every area of Human Resources. From Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, and Total Rewards to Learning & Development, Benefits, and Leave Management, our members represent the future of the profession - curious, collaborative, and committed to making a meaningful impact on their organizations and the people they support.
How We Started
A seasoned HR leader, career mentor, and passionate people connector, Rising HR Philly founder Jennifer Haddad created this community with one simple goal: to help people beginning their HR careers build meaningful connections, discover trusted resources, and develop the confidence and support network they need to thrive in the profession.
"We are fortunate to have an incredible HR community throughout the region, but it can be difficult for someone just entering the profession - or transitioning into HR from another career - to know where to start or how to find their people. HR can be a rewarding career, but it can also feel isolating at times. Having a strong peer network to turn to and learn from can make a big difference."
While mentoring several early-career HR professionals 1:1, Jennifer noticed they all had similar development questions and were each looking for the same sense of community. Recognizing they could grow faster together, she introduced them to one another and created a space where they could connect, ask questions, and learn from one another. That small group of professionals became the foundation for what is now Rising HR Philly.
